It’s my little girl’s first birthday. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that love could look like this. I wasn’t expecting it, I couldn’t previously comprehend it and I still don’t under stand it. She brings me the purest joy. I look forward to seeing her every day and I hope she gets excited to see me also. @_sophie_burnett , I love you. Happy first birthday, little miss.
Happy Mother’s Day to our Captain, our star player, our logistics coordinator and financial planner. Our point guard, quarterback and head chef. An update on my current situation for the 3 people who know what’s up! Also, incredibly blessed by the @acc.national team and feeling so humbled by this opportunity.
Today I lost my best friend, Nina. She never spoke a word (unless you were knocking on our door or opening the garage door then she wouldn’t stop barking). She always knew what to do. I’m going to miss the running down the street because she saw another dog or spending lots of time trying to work out how to stop her from jumping over, digging under or pushing her way through fences. Driving home to find her running across the street having an absolute whale of a time smelling everything through to curling up next to me and not wanting to move. The constant nose nudges because she wanted love to then her waving her paw around trying to pat me back. She was our rescue puppy but she was with me in some of life’s hardest time, rescuing me.
She was 100% love and dedication. Not a single fibre of her wasn’t put into loving whoever was with her.
Our inside garage door is all scratched up because of her excitement for you to come home and I wish she could do it one more time. To shake my hand, one more time. To run to the door and stop on a dime ready for me to say “Now you may” so she knows she can come in one more time. The house is quieter without you and it’s less ‘family’ without you.
Rest well, Nina. You are missed and will forever hold a large part of my heart.
