🔸 Atlantic Puffin 🔸 Atlantic puffins have penguin-like coloring but they sport a colorful beak that has led some to dub them the “sea parrot.” The beak fades to a drab gray during the winter and blooms with color again in the spring—suggesting that it may be attractive to potential mates. These birds live most of their lives at sea, resting on the waves when not swimming. They are excellent swimmers that use their wings to stroke underwater with a flying motion. They steer with rudderlike webbed feet and can dive to depths of 200 feet, though they usually stay underwater for only 20 or 30 seconds. Puffins typically hunt small fish like herring or sand eels. In the air, puffins are surprisingly fleet flyers. By flapping their wings up to 400 times per minute they can reach speeds of 55 miles an hour. #HariPhotography #puffin #birds #nature #puffins #wildlife #puffinsofinstagram #bird #birdsofinstagram #iceland #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #atlanticpuffin #seabirds #birdphotography #birdwatching #seabird #photography #scotland #perfection #animals #travel #norway #best #puffinbird #ig #rspb #travelphotography #mot #bestbirdpix @bestbirdpix @ashwani_hari

Spring is coming! When Atlantic puffins returning to the shores of the U.K. next month, these hardy birds would’ve spent the entire winter out on the brutally cold Atlantic Ocean, returning to find their mate from previous years, rearing their chicks, then returning by August. Tough birds. 💪🏼

What makes cheetahs distinct from other spotted big cats? Their speed! Primarily inhabiting Africa and some parts of Asia, five species are known for their slender bodies, apt for the title of the fastest land mammal. . . . @cheetahenthusiast @naboisho_bigcats @naboishoconservancy @cheetahwent @serengeticheetahproject #cheetah #cheetahcubs @sonyalpha @sony.unitedkingdom @sonybbcearth @sonyalphain @alphakeralam @sonymea

𝗟𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 I’m excited to show you 7 amazing photos of Lions, the rulers of the jungle, along with interesting quotes and facts over the next week. 𝗗𝗮𝘆 - 7 | Dirty Lorkulup The Black Rock male “Lorkulup” has gained fame for his ability to take down large prey such as buffalo and even multiple prey at once. He is a true beast and has earned a large following due to his impressive hunting skills. Lorkulup is easily distinguishable from other Masai Mara lions due to the large scar on his face, he may be the new Scarface of Mara. Despite his popularity, Lorkulup was scarred by one of the spears used by local tribes in the Masai Mara. We hope that he can continue to live as a wild lion without any danger from humans. Along with his three brothers, Lorkulup rules over vast territories and controls multiple prides with his brothers. They are still in their prime and have much more to offer. The Black Rock males are one of the most fiercest coalitions in the region. Masai Mara, Kenya 🇰🇪 📷 Sony A1 & 400mm f2.8 G
